| Fitness Championship Guidelines |
General Contest Information:Women fitness competitors must wear high heels in the swimsuit round and athletic shoes in the fitness round. Jewelry may be worn during the swimsuit rounds. Thong swimsuits are not allowed. Due to the danger of slippage, no body oils are permitted. Exhibition of poor sportsmanship will be grounds for automatic disqualification. Due to limited space, insurance requirements, safety and security concerns, no assistants will be permitted in the immediate backstage area. The top three women in each class qualify for any national level fitness championships. The top five in each class will be awarded trophies plus an overall if more than one class. The placement method is used for scoring. Competitors will be scored for each round, with the scores turned in upon the completion of the round being judged. The fitness round will count as 50% of the overall score and the two-piece round will count as 50%. Competitors must record their music on high bias/quality CDs. CDs may contain either MP3 or standard CD audio formats only. CDs must be free from distortion and blank except for the one piece of music being used. (two minutes maximum) Music should be recorded on a medium recording level. CDs must be clearly marked with the competitors name and class. Craig Productions reserves the right to refuse any CDs not meeting these standards. Absolutely no profanity will be tolerated! Competitors must be registered members of the NPC and 18 years of age by date of show. JudgingRound One: (Two-Piece Swimsuit) Contestants will be bought out in one or two lines in numerical order, for quarter turns. The judges will score the level of athleticism by assessing the degree of firmness, symmetry, proportion and overall physical appearance, including complexion, poise and overall presentation. Round Two: (Fitness Round) Two minutes maximum routine. Judges will look for style, personality, athletic coordination, flexibility, strength and overall presentation. Competitors should include strength and flexibility moves in their routines. Routines may also include aerobics, dance, gymnastics or other movements, but there are no required movements. Athletes should pay special attention to their- apparel since it too will be judged. Props may be used but must be able to be carried on and off stage by each athlete. Important Reminder:Women remember, the judges will be looking for the athleticism of the physique during the physique comparisons. This is not a bodybuilding contest! Separation and striations to the degree of bodybuilders will not be rewarded. The muscle tone should appear firm and round with a small amount of body fat over the muscle. The fitness competition provides alternative contests for the athletic women who train but do not wish to gain the muscle size, vascularity or definition required for bodybuilding competitions. Swimsuits and Fitness Outfits:Competitors must have a two piece swimsuit (Round One) and fitness attire (Round Two). |
